DRUMS
Loving music and its rhythm, Volker began playing drums at age 11 spending his free time throughout his school years taking private lessons. He developed a disciplined practice regimen that expanded his musical boundaries by studying and listening to various genres of music.
His first band had him soon playing out in local clubs and open airs concerts before Volker took his first steps in the recording studio. His melodic and thoughtful approach to drumming led eventually to collaborations with local musicians and bands. 1990, Volker joined the progressive hard rock band Kane adding a solid groove with a progressive edge to their music. After some time, he began recording with Kane and the band released their full-length album No Sun Rising in 1996. The track Separate Ways from the album was also released on a Compilation CD by the well-known German magazine RockHard. In 1999, Kane recorded their second album 5th dimension, a powerful and beautifully crafted masterpiece that weaves its music with a story of a time traveler.
On the road, Volker has displayed his talents in various settings. Highlights included of gigs with Kane including as support act for Michael Landau’s Raging Honkees and a one-off show with T.M. Stevens in Hamburg, Germany.
